The Sleepless Elite formed in Boston, Massachusetts, under the mentorship of Ben Deily, co-founder of the Lemonheads. We soon hit the ground running by touring down the West Coast with Ben’s band, Varsity Drag, sharing the stage with the likes of Toy Guitar, amongst others.
After moving to Livingston, Montana, we started to receive airplay from college radio stations across Montana. Shortly thereafter, we were invited to perform in venues ranging from small clubs, to County Fairs, to 5000 seat auditoriums in Montana and the West Coast, opening for such acts as Thunderpussy, Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms, Jen Razavi of The Bombpops, and Canadian artist Laura Hickli. During this time we recorded our first full length album Lights, which was picked up by Opus Music, garnering placements in film and TV shows, some of which continue in rotation today.
In March of 2020, we recorded a new EP which was picked up by BYG Music, who then granted our partnership to Elias Music, a division of Universal Music Group. During the global pandemic, we proceeded to release music videos with collective viewership of over 250K views, and continued to record original music in our small, home-built music studio.
Since moving back to Montana the band was overjoyed to be joined by Bay’s brother Drew and Carolina’s childhood friend Mary on guitar and bass respectively.
